Residents of a Woodley
Park neighborhood home were able to safely escape a two alarm
blaze in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, June 15th.
The fire erupted around
2:30 AM in the two-story, row dwelling at 2718 Woodley Place
N.W. Firefighters arrived to find flames racing thru the second
floor and extending into the cockloft. The blaze was contained
before it could spread into the attached exposures.
There were no injuries,
but firefighters were befuddled to discover a dead cat in a
freezer. The homeowners explained that the feline was a dead pet
they had not been able to bury. |
