DCFD units were dispatched with Battalion 2 at 6:30 PM to investigate smoke in the area near Sheriff Road and Eastern Avenue, NE. 

Engine 30 found that the fire was in fact in Prince George’s County Territory – just over the DC line – at 5327 Sheriff Rd.  Units were instructed to stand by. 

As PG units went to work on the fire, it was clear that DC units would be needed to bring the fire under control.
