House Fire 7425 13th St. Northwest

Units responded with Battalion 4 at 1:50 PM for the report of smoke coming from the house in the 7400 block of 13th Street, NW. 

First arriving units found heavy smoking coming from the basement of the two-story single family home.  An aggressive interior operation was begun to get a quick knock on the fire.  Several people inside the home were able to self-evacuate. 

One elderly woman was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.  A firefighter was also transported with a hand injury.  In all, nine people were displaced.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
