A box and working fire Dispatch in a building under construction sent a shroud of heavy black smoke in the area north of downtown Saturday afternoon, April 14th.

The blaze erupted around 5:30 P.M. at 1125 11th Street N.W., an eight story hi-rise structure. The fire heavily involved a storage room loaded with construction supplies in the basement, and generated a significant smoke condition visible from all directions due to the open nature of the building.
