Fire Contained To Roof Of N.E. Building

What initially appeared to be a major blaze brewing in the H Street corridor turned out to be something less on Thursday afternoon, January 11.

While a box alarm assignment was tied up at 9th and G Streets N.E., Engine 10, clearing a medical local, spotted a large column of smoke coming from 5th and H Streets N.E.

Engine 10 arrived at the scene to find fire showing

from the roof of a commercial building at that intersection, and requested a box alarm.
When firefighters arrived on the rooftop, they found an exterior fire involving plastics from roof work, and quickly extinguished the flames.
