The campus of Howard University was the scene of a Box and Working Fire Dispatch on Tuesday afternoon, January 9th.

Units arrived at the College of Dentistry building at 600 W Street N.W. to find smoke billowing from gratings over an air shaft on side D of the large, five story building.

Firefighters entered the structure and found the fire in the basement area. It was quickly extinguished. One civilian was treated and transported for smoke inhalation.
