Two D.C. residents were lucky to escape serious
injuries after flames engulfed the first floor of their Capitol Hill
home on Sunday afternoon, July 3.
The noontime blaze erupted in a two-story end of row dwelling at 1309
North Carolina Avenue N.E. Arriving Box Alarm units found heavy fire
blowing from the front of the house, and a Working Fire Dispatch was
immediately sounded. A swift interior attack was able to knock down the
flames, but not before there was some minor extension to the second
floor.
The fire also disrupted religious services in progress in a church on
the exposure "D" side of the fire building, worshippers evacuated as a
precaution. |
