2004 DC Fire and EMS units hit the water Thursday
night, July 8th, to search for possible victims from a car in
the Anacostia river under the Sousa Bridge.
Units responding around 11 PM on a full water
rescue assignment found an SUV overturned next to the shoreline
at the dead end of M Street S.E. Crews from the fireboat and
police divers searched the water, rescue squad personnel secured
the vehicle.
The search proved fruitless, and the scene
was turned over to U.S.Park Police for further investigation.
