On June
9th 2007 members of the D.C. Firefighters Burn
Foundation and staff from the Washington Hospital Center
Burn Center hosted its annual day camp at the quarters
of the D.C. Fireboat.
The
foundation host several activities throughout the year
for young burn survivors from the area. With the
generous help of the crew of the D.C. Fireboat we were
able to provide these young survivors with a day to
remember. After taking a short boat ride to Haynes
Point aboard the John Glynn, the U.S. Park Police
provided quit the display for us with their Mounted
Unit, K-9 Unit and their helicopter Eagle One.
The
foundation will once again be taking a group of young
burn survivors ages 8-18 to the Children’s Burn Camp in
Union, CT the third week of July. All of these programs
are provided at no cost to the children or their
families and are funded by donations to the foundation.
